A song that changed my life?

What’s a song that changed your life?

I can’t say a particular song changed my life but I can say many I have significant memories and attachments to certain songs.

Music fills our souls with many emotions. It can fill us with joy or sorrow.

My parents are music lovers and for that I am too. I always have music playing during the day to uplift my mood. It will take me places I like to remember or it can make me yearn for past times or they can remind me of the drinking days and make me appreciate my sobriety.

The one song that stays with me is “I can see clearly now” I have listened to that song for years but took it personally when I stopped drinking. Every word resinatted. The sky was clear and the fog lifted. I could see people for who they were and what my place was in their life.

The song by Brian Adams, “I would die for you” was a song my dad played for our father daughter dance at my first wedding. We danced and sang every word to each other. I lost him in 2025 so anytime I hear that song my heart is full and my dad and I are dancing and singing every word in my mind. I will look to the sky and say thank you to him. Thank you for the music and the dance we shared on our journey together through this life.
