Being a good Person…

What does it mean to be a good person?

Being a good person isn’t easy for some. They’ve given up on humanity or their life has turned them cold or sadly it’s a mental illness.

Being a good person to me looks like someone that has good morals and ethics. Someone who helps others in a time of need, a simple smile to a stranger or stopping in the road when a trail of Geese are crossing. Letting someone in line at the store or on the hwy.

Do to others as you’ll have done to you. What you give is what you get. Be honest and loyal to your word. Be kind to animals. Be nice! Take the high road and apoligise when it’s needed, take accountability for your mistakes, don’t judge what you don’t know or understand.

We run into all sorts of people through this life. We don’t know what others are going through so instead of matching their energy with a nasty remark or look, ask them if they are okay. If someone is in need, help if you can.

It’s our choice what mask we are going to wear when we start our day. Being a good person doesn’t take a lot, just be genuine and kind. Be the person that when people refer to you they say what a good person you are. Leave a legacy of good and inspire others to do the same.

Be good and do good and life will do the same for you.

If my dog could talk, this is what she would say…

If your pet could talk, what would be the first thing it says?

Our golden retriever Gracie is so full of life. She has so much energy and is ready for any date. Her absolute favorite activity other than hunting for the perfect stick to demolish or playing hide and seek with her ball, her favorite activity is swimming.

The first thing Gracie would say is, “Take me to the beach!” Her absolute favorite is crashing the waves or chasing the birds until she realizes they win every time.

Gracie is our second Golden. Our first, Molly, was my sobriety emotional support and she did such an amazing job. She is now an angel with her earned wings.

Gracie came to us in 2023 and she is a beautiful AKC big ball of fluff and a cuddle bug.  We got her down in Florida before Christmas and she has brought so much joy to our life. Gracie is also a sort of therapy dog for our daughter in her recovery.

My husband asked after we lost our Molly, why and how could I go through another loss like we are with Molly? I said , because of all the love they give and coming home to a dog is something noone can describe, unless you own a dog. The greetings and happiness they show us. The instant we see them the world melts and it’s all about the pets and kisses. I have always had a dog. Not having one would be so miserable. Gracie keeps me active, she sits with me and keeps me company while the hubby works. She’s also a great listener.

If Gracie could talk, oh boy, I don’t think she’d ever stop lol. I think I prefer her little growls or moaning when she wants my attention.

What animals make the best or worst pets?

What animals make the best/worst pets?

Hmmmm, I personally think dogs are the best , but I do love all animals except rodents. Yikes.

Animals are very intuitive and can be amazing support/therapy partners or just companions.

Birds are the worst. Although I love them, just not for a pet. They screech and make a horrible mess. The feed attracts mice and their feathers go everywhere! If you’re not with them constantly they pick their feathers off and you end up with a very unhappy bald bird. Did I mention if they’re flying loose they land in your mashed potatoes 🥔 🤔.  I know this from having a cockateil named Peppi. He would fly into my father’s dinner. Not fun! Its funny now but Peppi made dad real mad.

We said goodbye to Peppi and gave him to my grandfather who had the time to give and Peppi grew his feathers back. Peppi still was a frequent flyer and he learned to sing and stayed on gramps shoulder. They had a great bond. For gramps a bird was great, not so much for me or my dad, lmao 😆
